As soon as we arrived, the lovely Anna warmly welcomed us.

We were promptly taken over to blow me away to set off on our sunset cruise. Moreover, we’d have enough time to have a swim in the beautiful warm waters before we watched the sun go down over the horizon.

The service that Latchi Charters provided was outstanding. Our bags were transferred to the yacht “blow me away”, where Captain Dave introduced himself.

Captain Dave was very accommodating.

Clearly, he had our best interest at heart and wanted us to have the best experience possible. Captain Dave asked if there was anywhere, in particular, we wanted to go? We just said wherever the sun goes, we will go! He was extremely knowledgeable about the entire coastline. As this was our first time along the Akamas coastline, it was interesting to learn about the history of the area Dave knew so well.

He knew the best place to watch the sunset.

As we sailed out into the gorgeous waters of the Cyprus Sea with a glass of wine in hand. We chatted away with our friendly Captain Dave, and he even offered to show us the ropes of sailing. This was a highlight of mine from the trip as sailing has always interested me; however, I had never the opportunity to learn previously. Now we have decided to start sailing lessons as a couple and hope to have our own sailing boat one day.

We had moored up in the heart of the Akamas coastline, The Blue Lagoon, and went for a swim in the stunning and crystal clear waters.

Matthew and I were stunned by the captivating surroundings. All the snorkelling equipment was provided to see beneath the glowing water. The time flew by, and we hopped back on board to go and watch the sunset.

We could not have asked for a better service; fresh fruit, clean towels and water at our disposal.

The sun was starting to set. We could have watched the sunset from where we were; however, Captain Dave assured us that there was a much better viewpoint. Onboard there was a perfect seating area where we sat directly in front of the sunset and took more wine whilst enjoying the breathtaking sunset.

The sun was just about to drop behind what we now knew as the cape when to my astonishment, Matthew dropped onto one knee and popped the question.

With the golden glow of the sunset beaming down on us, he had taken me by surprise in the most remarkable way. Captain Dave was on hand to open a bottle of champagne. We had a toast to celebrate the most phenomenal evening I could ever have imagined.

It was clear that not only had Matthew prepared every detail to a “T” but also had the team at Latchi Charters.

Together they ensured it was the perfect proposal Matthew had hoped it to be. As soon as I had said yes, my favourite song was played through the sound system onboard Blow me Away. After what was one of the best moments of my life, we sailed back to the harbour in the gorgeous evening light.

On the return sail enjoyed a spectacular meze loaded with chicken kebabs, Greek salad, hummus, tzatziki and bread.

Back in the harbour, the Latchi Charters staff delivered their congratulations. They were just as pleased as us that we had had such a phenomenal evening.

This was definitely not your average sunset. I am so thankful to the team at Latchi Charters for all their hard work and attention to detail in making this an unforgettable experience.

I was well and truly blown away!
